Engage

Naaila Rehman

Teesside Coordinator

I started off as a volunteer with Islamic Diversity Centre in 2014. Helping out with the Elderly Care Project and other projects here and there, not fully understanding what Dawah actually was. However as my understanding increased I realised how important dawah was and became passionate about finding new ways in which we can educate people on who Muslims were and what our religion stood for!

I became a staff member with Islamic Diversity Centre in 2016, Heading the Elderly Care Project and also Events Management as well doing community engagement and networking with other organisations to see how we can work together to promote the work we do.

I absolutely love finding new ways to be able to talk about Islam and educate people, through workshops to the big exhibitions and conferences that we host. Seeing peoples mindset change and remove the misconceptions they have is the best bit of the job!
